Am involved with a couple of things at the moment relating to research at Surrey, in conjunction with our RES team as per previous post around:
a) facilities to share, update, communicate information about projects and about relationships between people and their research areas
b) promoting knowledge transfer from our research out into public and commercial world
c) maintaining intellectual capital when UGs, PGs, staff leave
It would be really fun to team up with another university outside of the UK that would be interested in doing something similar, unfortunately it might involve having to work with me from time to time, but if that’s too much, I’m sure we can find alternative arrangements. We do have some strategic partnerships in a few countries but that doesn’t mean its limited to those countries. If you have a faculty with similar / related research areas, it would be a bonus - especially physical sciences, computing, engineering, advanced technology.
If all of the above sounds interesting and you are experienced and ideally passionate about connecting with wikis and other social technologies and ways of visualising connections, would love to hear from you !
Everything would be funded, subject to sharing of information to put together bids (2 in pipeline…)
Please get in touch asap if interested, today would be good even if it was just to indicate interest.
Thanks !
(Our website is currently undergoing some redesign so if you do click further into research you might end up on some of the older style pages but the info should all be there.)
