I agree with your thoughts about the scaffolding and would be very interested in exploring the relationship of how the environment supports learning - I read Mind Hacks (and halfway through Brain Rules) over Christmas so starting to understand a bit better about how the brain processes happen with attention and memory, with context also being key, so if a person is unable to remember something, once they are back in a familiar context - how the environment responds back to their brain immediately processing familiar sights, sounds - this would all be part of how the mind is extended.I am also particularly interested in the relationship (but do not understand enough yet about) electromagnetic waves - which are already present in the environment and how a mobile device provides the 'connection' between the external waves in the environment and the brain's natural electromagnetic fields. L'ipotesi della mente estesa di Clark e Chalmers è molto avvincente, sopratutto perchè, andando in fondo, si entra nel merito della complessità e dei fenomeni emergenti. Come fanno notare gli autori, se uno "scaffolding" è sempre accessibile, facilmente usabile, quindi affidabile tanto da far dimenticare di usare nella cognizione un supporto esterno al proprio corpo allora questa impalcatura esterna di cognizione (o veicolo esterno di contenuto) è esteso al soggetto. Credo che nella loro ipotesi ci sia molto di vero, magari non tanto dal definirlo "mente" ma sicuramente esiste un reale appoggio della mente a paletti esterni situati nell'ambiente - fisico o virtuale- sul quale si interagisce. Tutto questo non è da sottovalutare! Perchè un progettista di comunicazione o di interfacce in generale può sfruttare a proprio favore le peculiarità dell'ambiente che sta progettando per favorire determinati tipi di interazione ed esperienza. L'interaction design se ne occupa direttamente pur non richiamandosi alla sua matrice filosofica che è quella delineata da Clark e Chalmers. A livello più tecnico, P.
